The Basin

Situated in the heart of the Walton Backwaters, close to Walton town, Walton Yacht Basin is an ideal haven for cruising yachts.

Access to the Basin is by a ‘Tidal Gate’ from approximately local HW -90 minutes (1hr & 30mins before HW) until HW. The gate can be opened when there is a water level at Harwich of 3.4m, for this service please ring Bedwells 01255 675873 or 07957 848031, or contact bedwellsboatyard@btinternet.com. Normal access is between 0800 and 1700 but other times can be arranged. For access out of hours and weekends ring John on 07738 279642 or Petra on 07798 731336 . VHF will only be monitored close to HW and is not guaranteed in any case.

The entrance gate has a maximum width of 5.00m. The Basin is accessible to yachts of up to 2.0m draught and 12.00m length at high tide. Bedwell and Co can help with the arrangements for larger craft. There are also mudberths available.

There is a barbecue available for Basin users by the Boatshed and plenty of car parking close to the pontoon access ramps.

Mooring fees for short stay visitors:

£18.00 for the first night, £16.00 per night thereafter and £90.00 per week, payable to Bedwell & Co. Reduced fees for group bookings by arrangement. There are also attractive rates for longer stays;

Winter - £72.00 per meter
