Walton town centre and the fine beaches are but a few minutes walk away along Mill Lane, where there is a selection of shops, restaurants and takeaways catering for most tastes. There is also a laundry.

Walton is fortunate in having the best shopping facilities close to a Yacht Basin on the East Coast.  Opposite the church are situated an Aldi and a Marks and Spencer Foodhall. There are cashpoints at the local Tesco and Co-op supermarkets in the High Street, the latter also has a Post Office. Building society facilities are located in Frinton some 1.5 miles from Walton.

The railway station with an hourly service to Colchester, London and East Anglia is approximately 12 minutes walk away and there is also a good bus service to Frinton, Clacton and Colchester.

Walton-on-the-Naze Lifestyles provides an indoor swimming pool and leisure facilities on the seafront and Walton Pier provides amusement for all ages.  There is an extensive children’s play area on the Bath House Meadow, close to the swimming pool.

The Naze is a national nature reserve where the Essex Wildlife Trust has the Naze Discovery Centre and the Naze Tower has stairs to the top for panoramic views of the Backwaters.

The two local boatyards provide a limited chandlery and extensive boat repair services, the nearest diesel and petrol station is at Frinton.
