There is also a laundry. Walton is fortunate in having the best shopping facilities close to a Yacht Basin on the East Coast. Opposite the church are situated an Aldi and a Marks and Spencer Foodhall. There are cashpoints at the local Tesco and Co-op supermarkets in the High Street, the latter also has a Post Office. Building society facilities are located in Frinton some 1.5 miles from Walton. The railway station with an hourly service to Colchester, London and East Anglia is approximately 12 minutes walk away and there is also a good bus service to Frinton, Clacton and Colchester. Walton-on-the-Naze Lifestyles provides an indoor swimming pool and leisure facilities on the seafront and Walton Pier provides amusement for all ages. There is an extensive children’s play area on the Bath House Meadow, close to the swimming pool. The Naze is a national nature reserve where the Essex Wildlife Trust has the Naze Discovery Centre and the Naze Tower has stairs to the top for panoramic views of the Backwaters. With a stunning setting, the club hosts not only dinghy sailing, but also cruising and all forms of boating. Alongside boating, they host a wide range of social events and run officially recognised training courses for all levels and ages. Visiting WFYC The Yacht Club is situated alongside the Basin and welcomes yachtsmen visiting from outside the Backwaters on a short stay basis. WFYC is a sociable club which welcomes new members and visitors who are kindly asked to sign-in on arrival. Facilities Toilets and showers are available in the Yacht Club during normal opening hours and there is a 24-hour facility available. Rubbish bins are provided for general garbage and a bottle bank situated near the Yacht Club car park. Your co-operation in dealing with rubbish will be appreciated. Free wifi is available in the Yacht Club.
